Think Tank Dinner

FPCI hosted a Think Tank Dinner to connect, update, and discuss among think tanks based in Jakarta issues as well as their plans for the year 2023. The meeting was held closed-door, in a small group, at the same table. More than 20 think tanks were represented in that first Think Tank Dinner.

FPCI Public Discussion: Event on One Year Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine”

In February 2023, marking one year of the war in Ukraine, FPCI organized a public forum titled “Ukraine on Fire: One Year of Resistance.” This event brought together prominent figures and experts to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine. The forum began with opening remarks from H.E. Vasyl Hamianin, Ambassador of Ukraine to Indonesia, and Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of FPCI. The panel discussion featured:

Speakers: 1. Prof. Yuddy Chrisnandi, Ambassador of Indonesia to Ukraine (2017-2021); 2. Radityo Dharmaputra, FPCI Fellow & Lecturer of International Relations at Universitas Airlangga; and 3. Kris Mada, Journalist at KOMPAS, who covered the war in Ukraine in 2022

Moderator: Dini Putri Saraswati, Lecturer of International Relations at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta The forum was held in-person at Bengkel Diplomasi, FPCI Secretariat, Jakarta, Indoensia.

Southeast Asia Lecture Hall: “International Business with Jamshyd Godrej”

During this event Mr. Jamshyd Godrej shared his perspectives as Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej & Boyce, a diversified business with a presence across 10 industry sectors. He is also Chairman of the Board of Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, India Resources Trust and Council on Energy, Environment and Water and a Director of World Resources Institute, USA, and Chairman of the CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre.

Every year, the Foreign Minister of Indonesia delivers the Annual Minister of Foreign Affairs Press Statement (PPTM). PPTM highlights Indonesia’s diplomatic achievements in the previous year and presents Indonesia’s foreign policy priorities for the following year. The speech is also crucial in understanding how Indonesia will approach its ASEAN 2023 Chairmanship and knowing what Indonesia has achieved from its G20 Presidency.

Commemorative Symposium for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation

Five years after ASEAN establishment in 1967, Japan had its first dialogue, and on the 10th anniversary of ASEAN, Japan announced the Fukuda Doctrine. The Fukuda Doctrine promises Japan’s resolve to be a nation committed to peace and never again become a military power, to consolidate our relationship of mutual confidence and trust based on a “heart-to-heart” understanding as a true friend, and to support ASEAN’s own efforts to strengthen their solidarity and resilience as an “equal partner”.

Southeast Asia Lecture Hall: “Poverty and International Development with Rory Stewart”

In discussing the problem of poverty as a challenge to international development, H.E. Rory Stewart drew from his experiences as Secretary of State for International Development of the United Kingdom, a position he occupied in 2019. A Senior Fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, he shared insights from his expertise on crises in international politics and on interventions in fragile and conflict-affected states.
